Here's a thought.

"We're so self-important. So self-important. Everybody's going to save something now. "Save the trees, save the bees, save the whales, save those snails." And the greatest arrogance of all: save the planet. What? Are these fucking people kidding me? Save the planet, we don't even know how to take care of ourselves yet. We haven't learned how to care for one another, and we're gonna save the fucking planet?"

George Carlin has a point here. Screwing in a few Energy Star light bulbs and using trash bags that are 30% recycled material will do NOTHING to help the environment, the animals, the trees, or the earth. It gives us a clean habitable place to live. All these environmentalists are hoping is that it wont in some way inconvenience them at some point. Think about it. The earth has been around for 4 1/2 billion years facing earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sun spots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles...hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worldwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages and your worried about some aluminum cans? Or a pile of Styrofoam?

"Gotta save the polar bears and the penguins... their ice is melting!" Maybe if we didn't have so many recycle factories spitting out greenhouse gasses, it wouldn't be. Leave the animals alone. Let them go gracefully. Over 90%, well over, of the planets inhabitants are extinct. Today, right now, 25 species are here that will not be tomorrow. We didn't kill them. They just died. That's what nature does, leave them alone. Sooner or later, we'll be gone. The earth with shake us off like a bad case of fleas. Just another evolutionary cul-de-sac. The planet will heal. The water and air will be cleansed. A self correcting system that will be around for a long time. Much longer than you or I would know.

Live and let be. Dont meddle or tamper. Just watch and see what unfolds as you go with it.
